DAY ONE
Following a welcome address, delegates will hear from Paul Pacifico, CEO of the Association of Independent Music (AIM) (UK) and Juliana Barrero, Associate Director - Lado B (Colombia), providing key market overviews for both the UK and Colombian markets, as well as key insights for any delegates looking to branch out their business in these countries.
Next, the not-to-be-missed, 'Doing It Differently: Creative Strategies and Digital Marketing Hacks' where we've brought together experts in cutting through the noise and standing out, including specialist branding consultant for music entrepreneurs, AWAL's Olivia Edwards-Allen who helps artists engage with their fans in innovative ways, and an award-winning Colombian musician and composer, Edson Augusto Velandia Corredor, with 17 studio albums under his belt.
Later, pioneering climate change campaigner and Co-CEO of Ninja Tune (Bonobo, Thundercat, Bicep), Peter Quicke, will be joined by Graciela Melitsko Thornton from Julie's Bicycle, the charity supporting the creative community to act on climate change and environmental sustainability. They'll be in conversation with Andrea Defrancisco from Latin Latas (CO), a musical project with a mission to increase sustainability, to discuss the music industry's impact on the planet and practical tips to help limit our impact as individuals and businesses.
After the rapid emergence of live streaming over the last twelve months, how important will this easy-to-access medium be after the pandemic subsides? Our next panel will explore the exciting opportunities virtual performances can bring to marketing and release campaigns (and how you can monetise them!). Speakers include Ruth Barlow, director of live licensing for Beggars Group, one of the world's leading independent record label groups, plus TV, documentary and music event director Luis Emilio Santos, and Horacio Blanco, the Grammy-nominated founder of ska band Desorden Público.
Rounding the day off, we'll have four showcase performances from pop-rock duo Gran Radio Riviera (Venezuela), activist and rapper LoMáasBello (CO), buzzy dream pop band Penelope Isles (UK), and electro-pop sensation Lu Tacchetti (Argentina).
DAY TWO
Following a morning welcome for our delegates, day two will kick off with country overviews for Venezuela and Argentina from Radio DJ Lorenzo Martinez (VE) and DJ Diego Bulacio (AR).
Next we have a group of digital music experts looking at how to maximise music income across different platforms online including media entrepreneur Mariano Blejman, the project director of the Bogotá record label Llorona Records, Eddy Gómez, the director of management, entertainment and media company i:e music, Stephen O'Reilly, and William Padrón, journalist and label manager of Believe Music LATAM.
This will be followed by a discussion on how music can lead to social change moderated by AIM's new Chair, Nadia Khan, a passionate advocate of diversity and founder of 'Womxn in CTRL' – a platform to empower and connect women and minority genders across the UK music industry with over 2,000 members and growing.
The final panel of the day will take a deep dive into collaborating across the borders of Latin America and the UK, featuring Emily Moxon, MD of renowned label Brownswood Music (UK) and moderated by Alejandra Gómez, founder of event partner Biche, Frente Cumbiero (CO).
Showcases on day two will feature psychedelic multi-instrumentalist Las Luces Primeras (AR), Balimaya Project (UK) blurring the boundaries between West African jazz and London sounds, Bogotanian cumbia band Conjunto Media Luna (CO), and electronica band Virtual Animal (VE).

The Association of Independent Music (AIM) will oversee the second virtual edition of the British Council's Selector PRO programme, alongside partners Biche (Colombia), Fundación Nuevas Bandas (Venezuela) and Niceto Club (Argentina), connecting independent music sector professionals from the UK and Latin America for cultural exchange and business collaboration.
